A Space to Wonder, Pause, and Be Heard
Spiritual companioning for women navigating life, faith, discernment, and the sacred.
Welcome to Commune
Growing up, I longed for a commune: a place of shared resourcing, care, and support where no one had to figure life out alone. Today, Commune is a dedicated space for spiritual companioning. It is a place to wonder, be curious, and honor the mystery, pain, grief, and beauty all wrapped up in being alive.
Spiritual companioning isn't therapy, and it isn't about fixing, advice-giving, or getting answers "right." It is a shared practice of slowing down, listening to your whole self, and honoring where you are right now.
How We Hold Space Together
Our time together is co-created and grounded in shared invitations:
❋ Deep, Spacious Listening:
We commit to listening for what is already present, valuing curiosity over quick solutions. Silence, questions, images, and emotion are all welcomed as part of discernment.
❋ Embodied & Situated Knowing:
We listen with the whole self: body, heart, and mind. Insight often surfaces through breath, sensation, memory, or metaphor just as much as through words.
❋ Questioning & Unlearning:
You are free to process spiritual beliefs, practices, and stories as you interrogate what you wish to keep, reshape, or release. We honor your personal discernment over loyalty to rigid forms.
❋ Care & Clear Containers:
This work is held in strict confidentiality, clear boundaries, and deep respect for your dignity, authority, and agency.
Commune welcomes women from all faith traditions, backgrounds, and stages of belief, including those outside traditional religious structures. Your lived experience is the centerpiece of our work. Whether you speak of God, Source, the Divine, Mystery, or simply the deeper wisdom within, we use the language and frameworks that resonate with you.
Centering Your Experience & Your Sacred Language
An Explicit Welcome for BIPOC & Queer Women
Intentionally cultivated as an affirming, held space of care for BIPOC and queer women. Your lived experience, history, and intersectional identity are honored as integral parts of your spiritual journey, never something to mask, minimize, or explain away. Here, your full self is welcomed and held with deep respect.
A Bit About My Path
My spiritual journey began with a foundation of deep familial faith, from morning devotions with my grandmother to finding a home in worship music as a teenager. For a long time, I believed that belonging to God depended on holding all the "right" beliefs and fitting into rigid frameworks. But life, in its messy and profound wisdom, disrupted those tight boundaries.
Navigating the unpredictable, beautiful reality of raising neurodivergent and queer children invited me to step away from a purely cognitive theology and discover a God who is far larger and more spacious than I had been taught.
In the everyday moments of parenting, my understanding of the Sacred transformed. I met God not as a distant judge requiring performance, but as Mother God: an expansive presence willing to be elbow-deep in the messy details of life while holding my whole world in her hands. I realized that my finite mind didn't need to have every answer solved. Instead, I learned to see divine presence embedded in all of human diversity, recognizing that every person already belongs to God and holds access to their own inner divinity.
Throughout my life and work, I have naturally inhabited the archetype of a midwife: a grounded presence called to come alongside others and help bring what is deep inside out into the light. I have always been drawn to the mystery and beauty of deep connection, helping people process what they have kept hidden and nourishing the sacred space between us. Over the years, as I allowed my own faith to be reconstructed through listening, prayer, and dialogue, this midwifing instinct matured into a commitment to spiritual companioning.
Today, my practice is rooted in the belief that our lived experiences, bodies, and intuitive knowings are powerful portals for divine encounter. I bring my whole self, including my background in ministry, my appreciation for thin spaces, and my deep trust in personal discernment, to walk with others. Through Commune, I offer the same supportive holding that helped me find my own way: a spacious container where you can slow down, honor your own journey, and listen to the divine wisdom already resting within you.
Anchors and Core Beliefs
While I hold these open to evolution, knowing that life with an infinite God is an unfolding journey, these core beliefs currently anchor my practice and life:
-
God's love is unconditional and freely given to all people, regardless of worthiness or merit.
-
God is fundamentally relational, and we experience the divine most deeply through our connections with others.
-
All humans bear God's image, though this reflection varies in form and degree among individuals.
-
Humans understand and express their identities (including race, gender, ethnicity, body ability, and personality) based on the cultural contexts, ethical frameworks, and power structures of their time.
-
The human body is sacred, housing divine life while simultaneously being subject to human limitations.
-
Self-care represents faithful stewardship of God's gift to us and encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual well-being as we learn to love ourselves as God loves us.
-
Personal life experiences serve as divine teaching moments through which God reveals divine nature and guidance.
-
God communicates through scripture and through lived experiences, helping us interpret messages relevant to our current lives.
-
Human relationships are channels for divine expression and guidance, inviting us to embody God's teachings through our interactions with others.
